The Pencil of Vernon L. Drake
Vernon Drake passed away in 2004 at the age of 83. Below are samples of the 114 original sketches contained in Across The Yellowstone. There are also several short stories. The sketches and stories tell of Vernon’s life on the ranch in Montana as a boy and a love for the west that lasted throughout his life. Included are wonderful illustrations that reveal his experiences as a WWII cadet and bomber pilot.
