In July, my friend Ed Macdonald and I visited the Commemorative Air Force’s Henry B. Tippie Educational Center in Dallas, TX where my father’s two nose art paintings are located. Nathan Huegen, VP or Education gave me a great tour of the archives. We even got some cockpit time in their B-24 (although it never left the hangar). Kevin Hahn, Museum Educator, posed for a photo with me under Mission Completed.

The second 1,000 miles of my road trip took me to the The National Museum of WWII Aviation in Colorado Springs, CO where the Curator and Historian, Gene Pfeffer, greeted me and posed for a picture in front of my father’s CBI display. Gene was instrumental in putting together the display and wrote a favorable review of my book Pilots and Painted Ladies for which I am very grateful. Gene has a impressive depth of WWII aviation knowledge so it was an honor to get his seal of approval.
