The Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm BO-209 “Monsun” was built in the early 1970’s and used by the Swedish and German military to train pilots including aerobatics. Both have a retractable nose gear and constant speed prop giving them a complex aircraft rating. Cruising at 150+ mph while being very agile and well balanced on the controls not only makes it a fun airplane to fly, it is a capable cross-country bird. N209JR has a 160 hp fuel injected engine. N209ES has carbureted 150 hp engine. The wings fold easily onto onboard brackets for towing.
