In 1977, Spider (yes, that’s her real name) came to work for me at AeroSport on the Schellville Airport. Forty years later, we reconnected when I located her and sent her a draft copy of Schellville: The Aviator and the Hippie. It was great to reminisce with someone who experienced those days. To my surprise, since the book came out and recently hit Amazon’s #1 Best Seller in its category, several others have contacted me and shared their memories of the 1970’s at the Schellville Airport. Shellville’s cast of unique characters and their antique and classic airplanes, set the stage for an aviation experience few seldom experience. Couple that with a love story between two people from different worlds, I just had to write it down.
